Salviati was set up more than 160 years ago in Venice, in 1859, when the Vicenza lawyer Antonio Salviati, in love with the precious mosaics of the basilica of San Marco and fascinated by Murano glass art, decided to start the production of mosaics and objects in Murano glass. The goal, ambitious and far-sighted, is to give a new life to Murano glass art, which has been in decline for decades.
Salviati’s story continues in the modern era, defining the innovative style that has always distinguished it. The company participates in various international exhibitions and in 1962 achieves the highest recognition in the world of design, the “Compasso d’Oro” award for the Marco vase designed by the architect Sergio Asti.
Since its inception, Salviati has been researching new languages in Murano glass by interpreting and updating its inexhaustible magic, in a continuous chase between liquid and solid matter.
Each work by Salviati is inspired by its Venetian roots, always with an eye on the world, and is created through sustainable behaviour towards the environment and with extreme attention to every detail: from shades, to reflections, up to the study of form.
A symbol of Murano glass art all over the world, the company respects and celebrates its millenary tradition every day and is committed to spreading the culture of hand-blown artistic glass.
