Karbony is the first made in Italy brand of furnishing solutions made of carbon fibre. Born from the idea of Carlo Cappellotto and the result of years of research and experimentation, Karbony is an unprecedented encounter between matter, carbon, and the disciplines that give it shape and structure: design and architecture. It expresses the birth of a new project, the first and only of its kind, with multiple technical and creative potential, which outlines the spaces for the interior and exterior design sectors.
The surprising lightness of the material itself reduces the mass that makes up each Karbony architecture, while their lattice structure lightens their weight even further. Compared to a full structure, the Karbony product is unique because it is even lighter, while the technical characteristics remain the same.
The entire production process is done by hand, from the design on paper to the creation. The manual gesture in unwinding the thread along the path indicated by the design is the only one that can manage the creative potential of carbon. It is the hand that governs the measurements, weaves the textures, masters the dimensions in the shapes and takes care of the finishes, giving uniqueness to each product. The result is a collection of furnishings that become protagonists thanks to a highly fascinating play of shadows, textures and weaves.
Thanks to the extreme strength of the raw material, Karbony products are durable over time, resistant to the most extreme atmospheric conditions, certain chemical agents and strong stresses. A further plus is sustainability: the technology used reduces production waste to a few centimeters of thread. And so, in addition to reducing fuel consumption for transport, the lightness of the Karbony architecture guarantees lower greenhouse gas emissions into the environment and greater safety for people. The weight facilitates handling and the assembly phases. Added to this is the durability of carbon fibre, with minimal or no maintenance in the structure of Karbony products, which keeps its quality intact over time.
