Michele De Lucchi

Michele De Lucchi is one of the most important contemporary Italian architects and designers, a leading figure in the evolution of international design from the 1970s to today. After graduating in Architecture in Florence, he took part in the Radical Architecture movements and became one of the symbolic figures of the Memphis group, helping redefine the language of design with an innovative, experimental and deeply human approach.

His design philosophy stems from the conviction that architecture and design should improve quality of life, placing the relationship between people, objects and environment at the centre. Every project is the result of research that combines functionality, emotion and culture, giving rise to products and spaces marked by a balance of technological innovation, craftsmanship and formal simplicity.

Over the course of his career he has worked with some of the most prestigious international brands, creating furniture, lighting and architectural projects that have become reference points in contemporary design. Among his most iconic creations is the Tolomeo lamp, designed together with Giancarlo Fassina for Artemide and awarded the Compasso d'Oro, now considered one of the most famous lamps in the world. At the same time he developed major projects for Olivetti, helping define a new vision of the relationship between technology, work and architecture.

Through constant research that combines innovation, sustainability and design culture, Michele De Lucchi continues to influence the international design scene, promoting a vision in which creativity, responsibility and Made in Italy quality coexist in perfect balance.
