Born in Cremona in 1960, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, where he attended courses taught by Achille Castiglioni and Marco Zanuso. In 1991 he opened his own studio in Milan, working in interior design, product design, art direction and graphics. Since 1991 he has been Art Director of Kartell, a role he has also held over the years for other companies such as Flos, De Padova, Foscarini, Moroso, Society (Limonta) and Emmemobili. He designs commercial spaces and exhibition sets, as well as offices and residences, for private clients and furniture and fashion companies such as Cassina, Dolce & Gabbana, Dada, Foscarini, Missoni and others. He designs furniture and lamps for the most prestigious design companies. Some of his collections have been the focus of exhibitions, such as the lamps designed for Kartell in the “LAviani pLAstic LAmps” exhibition in Milan in 2008, and the furniture designed for Emmemobili in “Peep O Rama.
The Furniture Show”, an exhibition staged at the Metropol Dolce&Gabbana theatre in 2018. His pieces are held in the permanent collections of design museums and selected for international group shows, such as the Good Vibrations cabinet for Fratelli Boffi, exhibited at the “Thrill of Deception” show at the Kunsthalle in Munich in 2018 and, the following year, at “Le mobilier d'architectes 1960 - 2020”, an exhibition at the Cité de l'Architecture & du Patrimoine museum in Paris. In 2020 Good Vibrations was acquired by the MAD, Le Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, for its permanent collection; in 2023 the MAD also selected the Gothik-A sideboard, designed for Fratelli Boffi in 2017, among the design pieces placed in dialogue with the haute couture garments of Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen, in the solo exhibition dedicated to her.
