Fratelli Boffi is an Italian company that, since 1928, has been creating furniture with sculptural shapes, inspired by classic style and reinterpreted in a modern key.

D/Vision .2 by Fratelli Boffi is a limited-edition designer tall sideboard designed by Pietro Ferruccio Laviani in 2017. It is the last of the three designs dedicated to the 1950s trumeau: the piece is broken down into separate parts, each with its own storage function, while the original shape remains recognisable.

A trumeau seen through cubist eyes

Like a cubist painting, which portrays its subject from several points of view at the same time, D/Vision .2 alternates the original frisé wood with fields of military green. The result is a piece with a strong stage presence, halfway between furniture and artwork. Pietro Ferruccio Laviani, born in Cremona in 1960 and a graduate in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, where he studied under Achille Castiglioni and Marco Zanuso, has been art director of Kartell since 1991. Fratelli Boffi was founded in 1928 in Lentate sul Seveso, in Brianza, from the cabinetmaking and carving tradition started by Luigi Boffi in the early twentieth century, and reinterprets classic style with irony and eclecticism.
