Medulum

The brand

Medulum

Medulum is a furniture company founded in Meolo, in the Venetian hinterland, which builds on the precious forty-year experience of the Zanchettin family’s joinery workshop. It is a brand that fascinates with evocative creations, blending elegance, refinement and tradition.

The enchanting landscape of the Venetian lagoon, with its shapes and colours, is the main source of inspiration for the brand’s collections. The brand name itself expresses this strong bond: Medulum is, in fact, the Latin name of the river favoured by ancient Venetian nobles to reach their summer residences.

Every creation, whether a bookcase or a coffee table, is finished down to the smallest detail by a team of expert master craftsmen led by Diego Zanchettin. The result is contemporary, refined collections of furniture and accessories that, thanks to collaborations with architects and designers, express skilled woodworking through ever-new languages.

Enhancing the raw material, craftsmanship, research and experimentation are the distinctive traits that have allowed Medulum to stand out and become a symbol of the truest, most authentic Made in Italy.

The Arcate chest of drawers by Medulum, designed by Accardi Buccheri Studio, is a storage unit with a contemporary, sculptural design inspired by the Romanesque architecture of the islands in the Venetian lagoon. Its distinctive front surface features a rhythmic succession of arches, alternating curved and straight lines to create a refined interplay of solid and void. The structure is made of veneered curved plywood, while the solid wood elements, shaped by milling, define a system of integrated grooves and handles that appear almost invisible, enhancing the composition's aesthetic continuity.

Measuring 65 x 48.5 cm and 142.5 cm high, Arcate is a designer chest of drawers with seven spacious drawers, ideal for organizing and furnishing bedrooms, living areas, and contemporary spaces. Available in oak, Canaletto walnut, national walnut, and open-pore black-lacquered ash finishes, it combines the functionality of a vertical chest of drawers with the aesthetic appeal of handcrafted woodwork. A Made in Italy furnishing piece that interprets elements of traditional architecture through geometric shapes, natural materials, and a contemporary design language.
