Martinelli Luce

The brand

Martinelli Luce

Martinelli Luce was founded in 1950 in the heart of Lucca, from the vision of Elio Martinelli, one of the most important lighting designers of the 1960s and 1970s. From the very beginning, the company has stood out for the creative culture and originality of design that run through every creation and, over the years, it has become a benchmark for Italian design worldwide.

The company meets the varied needs of residential projects with a wide range of products suited both to the most refined lifestyles and to everyday, functional ones, translating innovation into different settings and environments.

Essential and dynamic, Martinelli lamps are a perfect combination of rigour, functionality, technology and research, and draw on conceptual archetypes that make them immune to passing trends. In a word: iconic and timeless.

Their aesthetic language, inspired by nature and by the purity of geometric shapes, goes hand in hand with a strong commitment to innovation and experimentation. This has led to a number of creations that have won major international awards, such as the Compasso d’Oro.

The challenge Martinelli Luce sets itself is one of constant change: always seeking new points of view and inspiring people’s creativity and curiosity, so that they can see what seems ordinary to them with new eyes.

Pipistrello Piccola Cordless is the cordless version of the Minipipistrello, the table lamp designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965 and produced by Martinelli Luce. Thanks to the integrated rechargeable battery, it can be moved freely from the dining table to the covered terrace, from the bedside table to the bookcase, without the need for a nearby power outlet.

Freedom of movement, same icon

The bat-wing-shaped opal acrylic diffuser and the aluminum structure remain the same as the original. The lamp is switched on and its intensity adjusted with a simple touch on the lamp body, while charging takes about 6 hours with the included charger.

Available finishes

  • Glossy white: the most classic version, it fits naturally into any style.
  • Dark brown: a warm and deep tone, perfect with wood and natural materials.
