The brand

Interno Italiano

Founded in 2012 by Giulio Iacchetti and Silvia Cortese, Internoitaliano is a “widespread design factory” project rooted in Italy’s manufacturing fabric: a network of workshops, artisans and manufacturing companies that embody Italian excellence in creating products of the highest quality.

The name reflects the desire to create a catalogue of furnishing objects inspired by the Italian way of making and living, designing everything that can be found in an interior. The result is a complete range of products designed to last and to become part of everyday life.

Each creation is described as a “happy object”, born from an equal and harmonious encounter between designer and artisan, with its own stylistic autonomy that allows it to adapt to very different settings.

The brand’s visual identity is a story told in collage. Objects, history, quality and Italian character live in a space that deliberately avoids any reference to a predetermined lifestyle. The names given to Internoitaliano’s objects pay tribute to lesser-known Italian towns and villages, symbols of an authentic national identity that opens up to the international scene.

Buri by Interno Italiano is a designer chair in solid ash with a hand-woven paper cord seat, designed by Mario Scairato. It is inspired by the typical Italian country chair known as the “friulana”, a familiar sight in many Italian homes, restaurants and trattorias.

The friulana, reinterpreted

Buri stands apart from the archetype thanks to a more generous seat and details that express high-quality craftsmanship, such as the joints of the backrest crossbars, which connect harmoniously with the vertical elements. The name comes from Buttrio, a town in Friuli known as “Buri” in the Friulian language. Mario Scairato lives and works between Milan and Paestum: he graduated in Industrial Design in 2011, worked with Giulio Iacchetti from 2012 and, since 2015, has worked as a freelance designer for companies such as Alessi, Bear, Cotto Manetti and Moleskine. Interno Italiano was founded in 2012 by Giulio Iacchetti and Silvia Cortese as a “widespread design factory”: a network of Italian craft workshops and manufacturers that make objects inspired by the Italian way of making and living.
