Pipistrello Large with LED module is the design table lamp created by Gae Aulenti in 1965 and produced by Martinelli Luce. Its opal methacrylate diffuser, shaped like a bat’s wings, sits on an aluminium structure with an iron base. This version has an integrated LED module, in glossy white.

A classic of Italian design

Gae Aulenti, an architect and designer among the central figures of 20th-century Italian design, also designed the interiors of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Pipistrello is her best-known lighting project: a soft, diffused light that suits a dining table as well as a desk, a console or a living-room corner, at home or in contract spaces.
