The brand

Nuove Forme

A story made of passion, technique and creative flair. Nuove Forme was founded in 1993 in the Florence area, carrying on the legacy of the ceramics company founded by Alvino Bagni.

The Nuove Forme collections, marked by variety and uniqueness, draw on the cultural and artistic knowledge of Alvino Bagni, passed down to Gianfranco Ghiretti and his niece Maria Chiara. The company's technical skills also stem from years of experience gained through collaborations with the many artists who worked first with Alvino Bagni and then with Nuove Forme. This precious heritage is enriched with new projects, marked by the same spirit of experimentation that made Alvino's creative journey unique.

All of this translates into unique ceramic pieces, whether contemporary, design-led, reissues from the historic catalogue, or made-to-measure projects. Surprising, inimitable collections, the fruit of ongoing research and experimentation with materials, colours, forms and textures.

Nuove Forme creates its products with the collaboration of small local artisans, who shape the plaster models or work the lathe, guided directly by the company to guarantee the reliability of each semi-finished piece. Glazing, decoration, firing and packaging, on the other hand, are carried out at the Florence facility and handled down to the smallest detail.

This piece is a reinterpretation of some items from the Bagni archive, inspired by the taste of 60s/70s American culture. Its production involves two different firings: one to create the raw base and another for the coloured glazes, which are applied by hand using the wax resist technique. The sand in the base makes the piece distinctive and original. A cold-applied black patina completes the process.
