The brand

Medulum

Medulum is a furniture company founded in Meolo, in the Venetian hinterland, drawing on the precious forty-year experience of the Zanchettin family's carpentry workshop. A brand that captivates with creations rich in evocation, blending elegance, refinement and tradition.

The enchanting Venetian lagoon area, with its forms and colours, is the brand's main source of inspiration for its collections. Even the brand's name expresses this strong bond. Medulum is in fact the Latin name of the river favoured by Venetian nobles of old to reach their summer residences.

Every creation, whether a bookcase or a small table, is finished down to the smallest detail by a team of expert master artisans led by Diego Zanchettin. This gives rise to contemporary, refined collections of furniture and accessories that, thanks to collaborations with architects and designers, translate skilled woodworking into ever-new languages.

Valuing raw materials, artisan care, research and experimentation are the distinctive traits that have set Medulum apart, making it a symbol of the truest, most authentic Made in Italy.

In Milla – the sideboard designed for MEDULUM by Milanese designer Filippo Protasoni – a simple natural fabric ribbon is transformed into a decorative element, unfurling its weave – at once sharp and geometric, tactile and material – along the front doors of the furniture, with smooth Canaletto walnut surfaces.
A delicate process recreates the gesture of weaving in its primordial form, with threads intersected on the loom one by one, manually, with the spaces slowly filling up to become a surface. The material contrast in the dialogue between textile and wood appears emphasized by the presence of slender brass support points: structural elements with refined and essential linearity, they emerge like flashes of light, sparks of reflection.
