Medulum

The brand

Medulum

Medulum is a furniture company founded in Meolo, in the Venetian hinterland, which builds on the precious forty-year experience of the Zanchettin family’s joinery workshop. It is a brand that fascinates with evocative creations, blending elegance, refinement and tradition.

The enchanting landscape of the Venetian lagoon, with its shapes and colours, is the main source of inspiration for the brand’s collections. The brand name itself expresses this strong bond: Medulum is, in fact, the Latin name of the river favoured by ancient Venetian nobles to reach their summer residences.

Every creation, whether a bookcase or a coffee table, is finished down to the smallest detail by a team of expert master craftsmen led by Diego Zanchettin. The result is contemporary, refined collections of furniture and accessories that, thanks to collaborations with architects and designers, express skilled woodworking through ever-new languages.

Enhancing the raw material, craftsmanship, research and experimentation are the distinctive traits that have allowed Medulum to stand out and become a symbol of the truest, most authentic Made in Italy.

In VARIAZIONI, the furnishing accessory designed for the brand by NAESSI STUDIO – the Roman designer duo Eleonora Carbone and Alessandro D’Angeli – circular inlays overlap and chase each other along the entire circumference of the tabletop, supported by a circular base, placed at the center of the table.
The tone-on-tone inlays, created by carvings of the same wood essence, celebrate the aesthetic versatility of wood, a noble and natural material par excellence: each portion of wood fiber, rotated by a few degrees compared to the base orientation, absorbs light and returns it with chromatic vibrations, depth effects and unexpected geometric patterns.
Changing the point of view changes the surface of the table, resulting in an aesthetic with a rhythmic and surprising character.
A very particular visual dynamism, testament to the brand's strong manufacturing expertise, which reflects the dynamic function of the object itself, designed to bring people together and suggest connections and exchanges of ideas.
