The brand

Horm

Horm is a furniture company from Friuli that, since 1989, has been producing high-end design furniture for homes and the contract sector, combining technology, know-how and research.

People, in every aspect of their daily lives, are at the centre of every project by the brand. Eating, working, socialising and relaxing are the main activities of daily life for which the company produces furniture offering high comfort and respect for human ergonomics.

The pursuit of comfort does not exclude emotional content. Every furnishing solution, from sofas and tables to bookcases, becomes a personal expression of those who use it and is designed for people who want to furnish their homes with an exclusive character, combining aesthetics, functionality and fine materials.

Horm offers a contemporary style in which Mediterranean, Japanese, Scandinavian and North American influences coexist, reinterpreted through the culture and craftsmanship of Made in Italy.

The brand has always worked with renowned architects and designers who express their creativity while sharing the same passion for beauty and quality. Over the years, the company has received numerous international awards and accolades, such as the Compasso d’Oro, testifying to its ability to combine design, research and technology in creating furniture full of personality and functionality.

Ripples Indoor by Horm is a designer bench in solid wood designed by Toyo Ito, considered one of the most iconic works of contemporary design and awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 2004. Its soft, continuous seat invites relaxation and contact with natural materials.

A wave of five woods

Ripples is made of plywood from five different solid woods: canaletto walnut, mahogany, cherry, oak and ash. The bench is crafted using advanced technologies and finished entirely by hand, and the alternating wood species create a polychrome effect. Toyo Ito, the Japanese architect born in 1941, received the Pritzker Prize in 2013. Horm was founded in 1989 in the Pordenone furniture district and works mainly with wood, often combined with marble and leather, alongside international designers and architects.
