The brand

SCAB

S•CAB is an Italian furniture company founded in 1957 in Coccaglio, in the province of Brescia, by Francesco Battaglia. Originally specialising in the production of furniture and household goods, it gradually developed deep expertise in the design and manufacture of seating, which has become the heart of its identity.

Over more than sixty years of experience, S•CAB has built a path that combines manufacturing tradition, innovation and design research. Collaborations with Italian and international designers give life to furniture collections for indoor and outdoor spaces, characterised by functionality, versatility and a contemporary language.

Made entirely in Italy, its production places value on the quality of materials, attention to production processes and a sustainable vision of design, with solutions designed to last over time.

The open version of Koala emphasizes the graphic character of the tubular metal frame, which outlines the seat and wraps it in an embrace – hence the name Koala, after the Australian animal known for its symbiotic bond with its young.

The cylindrical upper padding provides comfortable back support while leaving the backrest free to breathe, in a balanced relationship of solids and voids. The vibrant colors of the upholstery make it easy to place in diverse settings without losing its contemporary character.
